What is the ARMLS?
ARMLS stands for Arizona Regional Multiple Listing Service and was incorporated
in 1982 as one of the first regional multiple listings in the United States.
Today, it has a fully functional website (located at www.armls.com) and boasts
a committee governed by a board of directors who look over the brokers, agents,
etc. associated with the ARMLS. While this definition can be somewhat confusing
and can be found on the mission statement of ARMLS, what does the organization
really do?
ARMLS At Work
The Arizona Regional Multiple Listing Service provides the necessary software
for web sites such as Realtor.com, whereby real estate agents from across
Arizona can list properties for sale throughout the state. ARMLS consolidates
the many boards that do such brokering and real estate transactions and puts
them into one central location for consumers and customers to easily access.
Additionally, ARMLS combines all the realtors and real estate agents throughout
Arizona and combines them into one central location for customers to access.
While customers may view homes and properties for sale through the ARMLS,
customers are still required to work directly through their respective realtors
when buying or selling property.
Other ARMLS Services
ARMLS also provides other minor services to the realty industry through several
different aspects of the business. They provide the basis and foundation for
the entire Multiple Listing Service and also govern the rules and regulations
surrounding the system. ARMLS creates map books for real estate brokering
purposes and informs real estate agents of new products and services that could
be beneficial to the Arizona real estate.
